Critters  I'd never seen before, as found at Hamilton Pool, Travis County, Texas.

Hunt, Texas. Al Sheppard's moai, and some members of the Mexican free-tailed  bat (Tadarida brailiensis) colony that occupies his Stonehenge II (see my panoramas page for Stonehenge II photos). The moai were photographed using the High Dynamic Range (HDR) technique and tone-mapped down to Low Dynamic Range (LDR) images.

Turkey vultures (Cathartes aura) in flight over Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, Texas. The individuals with the gray heads and black beaks are juveniles.

A young Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) perches on the U.T. Austin Main Building at sunset while it patiently considers how best to acquire a pigeon dinner.
